A LITTLE ABOUT ME For as long as I remember, I have always had an interest in art in any form. I studied art at school and attended private art classes under the adventurous hand of Jane McCabe. I'm relatively self taught, perhaps I would also consider myself 'blessed' with artistic genes. Through the years I dabbled in many mediums such as pastels, acrylics, watercolours, charcoal drawing, calligraphy, fabric painting and even taught ceramic painting. I only really got back into serious watercolours when I realised my children weren't so needy anymore and I needed a creative outlet to help pass the time. With the help of my family, inspirational art friends, workshops, art classes and art books, I have managed to grow as an artist and feel privileged to have had the opportunity to follow my passion. I also travelled overseas to the UK to attend a two day workshop with my 'mentor' and friend Jean Haines. I'm also a member of the (WSSA) Watercolour Society of South Africa and entered my very first paintings in a juried 'New Signatures Exhibition'. I was pleased when all three were accepted, but had bitter-sweet emotions when my favourite painting was sold! Thanks to all the special people who have helped me in this incredible journey with the magic of watercolours.
